    Activities
South Iceland is a lowland region with a diverse landscape of lush farmland, glaciers, dramatic sandy coastline and striking waterfalls. It is also an area of historical significance. Your guide will take you on a journey through locations where important historical and cultural events took place, including probably Iceland\‘s greatest medieaval story – Njall\‘s Saga. The trip continues onto Myrdalsjokull

    Myrdalsjokull (Mýdrasjökull)

    Myrdalsjokull
Iceland's stunning and fourth largest icecap below which stirs Katla - covers 700 sq km and up to 750 m thick
where you can walk on the glacier and admire the views.

    Visit beautiful Seljalandsfoss

    Seljalandsfoss (Seljalandsfoss)

    Seljalandsfoss
Walk up to and behind this stunning and elegant south shore waterfall
and stand behind this plummeting waterfall; see mighty Skogafoss

    Skogafoss (Skógafoss)

    Skogafoss
A mighty and much photographed waterfall on the south coast
; walk on black sand beaches pounded by the Atlantic surf and see the bird cliffs that surround the small coastal town of Vik

    Vik (Vík)

    Vik
A small south coast town with windswept black sand beaches, a picturesque hilltop church and great views
, which are teeming with life in spring and summer. On the way home, stop at the \‘greenhouse\‘ town of Hveragerdi

    Hveragerdi (Hveragerði)

    Hveragerdi
Set in an area of much geothermal activity, Hveragerdi has become known as the 'greenhouse' village
, so called because the abundant geothermal activity in the area has meant the locals grow all kinds of plants and produce in row upon row of greenhouses.

The sights on this south shore (Iceland) tour are \‘classic\‘ and exploring them by superjeep provides the ultimate way to travel.

We did this tour the day after seeing the Northern Lights with Superjeep. Hard to think that experience could be surpassed but thanks to Birgir for a brilliant day out and for being so knowledgeable. His care and encouragement meant we saw and did more than we could have done alone. We love Iceland and Icelanders even more and will be back again!

We went on this tour with Magnus, David and Ragnar. It was a superb day out. The guides are very knowledgable and happy to share their knowledge with us. They are enthusiastic and proud of their country. There was a bit of a snow storm at the top of the glacier so we opted out of the snowmobiling, but others still had the opportunity to go. The beach was amazing, and the skills of the drivers going off road were impressive. I couldn't imagine seeing Iceland in any other way. It was a real adventure.

We had an absolutely brilliant day. Ragner was excellent in every way. We never felt rushed. Saw some sights that we will never forget. Don't forget to try the Lamb Soup at the Waterfall, it is amazing and just what we needed on a wet January day. If we manage to go to Iceland again, we would definitely use this Company.

We did this tour in November 2006 - it was brilliant! The scenary is stunning and Ragnar is an excellent, interesting and amusing guide. I would certainly recommend this trip and travelling by jeep meant that we could go and see areas that the buses woudn't make it to. Amazing - thanks!
